Meet our Guest Speaker

PETER TRAUTMANN

Peter Mark Trautmann is a born and bred New Yorker. He was amazed when he arrived at college at NYU to find authentic communities of students who were placing Jesus and his teachings at the center of their lives, rather than the margins. After graduation, he worked for a non-profit in Manhattan for two years before pursuing a deeper foundation in the Bible and theology at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary north of Boston, where he earned his Master of Divinity. Peter then joined The Navigators (on April Fool’s Day!) to provide others with the same kind of gospel community that was so transformative in his own life. He has served with The Navigators for 23 years and became the City Director for NYC in 2021. He has a huge heart for helping people be gripped by the beauty of Jesus’ message and its relevance to their own lives. He’s loves the diversity of people, cultures and ideas that he encounters every day in New York City and has also had the privilege of ministering in China, Japan, Mongolia, India, Vietnam, Honduras, and Morocco. He has been married for 15 years to his wonderful wife Amanda, who serves as a Vice President of The Navigators directing the national marketing team, and they live with their three rambunctious boys ages 8-12 in their two-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn. Peter loves the city and would love to give you a tour sometime!

SPEAKER NOTES

John has served on staff with the Navigators for ten years at the University of Nebraska-Kearney and Wichita State University, where he currently serves as campus director. John was an atheist when he met the Navigators as a freshman at the University of Northern Iowa. Over the course of a year he came to believe in Jesus through many conversations with new friends in his dorm. Afterward, another Navigator student taught him how to grow deeply in his relationship with God and share his faith with others. Since then John has dedicated himself to recruiting, inspiring, and training college students to share Christ and invest deeply in others right where they are and to the ends of the earth.

In his free time John enjoys spending lots of time with his wife Courtney and three kids, Leo, Gideon, and Levi. He also enjoys walking, reading, sports, board games, and cooking with fire.
